
Texas Roads Rank Among Deadliest in U.S. on New Year’s Eve
Everyone knows New Year’s Eve is a dangerous night for drivers. But did you know the roads in Texas are some of the deadliest in the nation that night?
Some folks call New Year’s Eve “amateur night,” and for good reason. There are those who don’t party often and can’t handle their liquor as well as others, so they end up getting smashed on New Year’s Eve every year.

It’s Not Just Infrequent Drinkers Making Bad Choices
But let’s be honest here – there are plenty of regular drinkers who do the exact same thing, which is totally fine. This old boy writing the story loves to party as much as the next person. That said, if I plan on partying hard on a night out, I make sure to have a sober ride home.
Unfortunately, far too many people aren’t of the same mindset as me and figure they’re okay to drive when they clearly are not. That’s why I felt the need to put this story out there. If it makes one person think twice about driving after a night of drinking, it’s worth every bit of the time I put into it.
A new study conducted by California-based personal injury law firm AutoAccident.com determined that the Lone Star State is the ninth most dangerous state to drive on New Year’s Eve. Texas averages 9.61 deaths per million residents on New Year’s Eve, which is a whopping 37.45% higher than the national average.
If that doesn’t get your attention, I don’t know what will. Y’all stay safe out there.
