These Rides Are Closing at Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington
Big changes coming to Six Flags Over Texas and sadly with this news. Some rides will be shutting down.
First Good News, Massive Upgrades Coming to Six Flags Over Texas AND Hurricane Harbor
Six Flags announced this week that they're investing one billion dollars in their theme parks across North America and some of those upgrades will be happening to our theme park in North Texas. Probably the biggest change will be coming to Hurricane Harbor. The park is set to have their largest investment in the water park's history with something they're calling Splash Island.
Plans for Splash Island
An all-new interactive play structure, Texas-sized 1,000-gallon tipping bucket, and colorful water slides are just a few of the many options for families to have a blast together. Thoughtful new amenities like family cabanas and enhanced dining options will make a great day at the park even better, the Six Flags website says.
New Dive Coaster Coming to Six Flags Over Texas in 2026
The big upgrade for next year is Splash Island at Hurricane Harbor. Six Flags Over Texas fans will be getting a new dive coaster in 2026 that we do not have a lot of details on right now. Six Flags says this new coaster will be a record breaker so we will wait and see once they begin construction.
Bad News, La Vibora and El Diablo Going Into Retirement
The Spain section of the park is where this new coaster will be going and to make room for it, two rides will be calling it a career at the park. La Vibora which has been operating since 1987 and El Diablo which is actually a newer ride that opened in 2019, will be going away. No word on when these two rides final days of operation will be in case you wanted to get one last thrill in before they're gone for good.
