Revealing the Friendliest Place in Texas
If I were looking to drag up and put down roots elsewhere, a city known for friendliness would most certainly be a frontrunner.
I grew up in a small town in North Texas. It was one of those places where everybody knew everybody. People would always smile and greet you when you passed them on the sidewalk or would give you a wave when you passed them on the road.
Sure, people would beef with one another and there were plenty of fights. But the overall atmosphere was friendly. However, I have been to small towns in which the atmosphere wasn’t friendly – especially to outsiders.

At the risk of angering a whole lot of people, I have to admit that I have yet to visit a big city with an overall friendly vibe. I blame it on the fast-paced lifestyle and too many people being crowded together (I know I get snippy when I feel a little crowded).
So, I wasn’t surprised when I saw that a town with a population of just over 17,000 people was named the friendliest in the Lone Star State.
According to a study by Nextdoor, Bellaire is the friendliest place in Texas. Here’s what residents love about it:
Bellaire, Texas is a clean, family-friendly city known for its strong sense of community. Nextdoor Neighbors appreciate its convenient location near Houston, its safe neighborhoods, and its numerous parks. It's a great place for families and dog owners.
Admittedly, I’ve never been to Bellaire. But I may have to pay them a visit the next time I’m in the Houston area.
