Here’s another one for your Texas restaurant bucket list.

I love “mom and pop” restaurants. I have nothing against chain restaurants as there are plenty of good ones out there, but you can’t beat local joints. I always eat at local places when I’m out road-tripping.

Having worked in food service when I was younger, I learned to appreciate the amount of personal touch that’s put into everything at local eateries. Restaurant owners are a proud bunch, and they take any criticisms of their food personally, regardless of whether it’s positive or negative.

I’m one of those who prefers to focus on the positive. The way I see it there’s already enough negativity in the world, especially in the age of social media. So, I figured I would share the best mom-and-pop restaurant in the Lone Star State, according to loveFOOD.

The Best “Mom and Pop” Restaurant in Texas

My fellow Italian food lovers will want to make the trek to Terilli’s Restaurant in Dallas for a unique Italian experience.

Of course, they have Italian staples like pasta dishes. But it’s the Cheese Italchos that customers can’t get enough of. It’s not hard to see why.

Owner Jeannie Terilli’s trademarked creation features chips made fresh daily using a special recipe covered in her family’s famous red sauce and topped with cheese blend.

Ready to give them a try? You’ll find Terilli's Restaurant at 2815 Greenville Ave.
