Let’s talk about two of my favorite things: Texas barbecue and hole-in-the-wall restaurants. When it comes to trying new things, that’s a combination that will always be at the top of my list.

I’ve been known to scour the internet looking for new places to try that are what I would consider to be off the radar. So, my interest was piqued when I came across the list of hole-in-the-wall barbecue worth visiting in each state, according to Cheapism.

I immediately clicked into the story and was pleased to see their pick for Texas was right there at the top of the list (most sites typically list states alphabetically, forcing me to scroll almost all the way through the list before finally landing on the result for the Lone Star State).

As much as I hate to admit it, I had never heard of Snow’s BBQ in Lexington. There I was thinking I was in the know when it comes to the best barbecue in the state. However, it appears I have much to learn, as Snow’s was voted the best barbecue in the state by Texas Monthly.

Of course, I added Snow’s to the list of places I need to hit up the next time I’m in the Austin area. But here’s the thing – they're only open on Saturdays. So, if, like me, you’re on a mission to try the best barbecue around, you’d better get there early and be prepared to wait in line. They’re open from 8:00 am until they run out.
