A search was called off for a missing person this week after her remains were found in an alligator.

Police Investigating the Death of 60-Year-Old Woman

Not a lot of details have been released from the Houston Police Department on this case, but here is what we know so far. Police were looking for a woman in her 60's this past Tuesday near Horsepen Bayou. Officers were combing the area looking for her whereabouts, when an officer stumbled upon an alligator eating human remains.

Officer Fatally Shoots Alligator

To prevent anymore damage to what was left of the remains, the officer fatally shot the alligator. An autopsy will be done on the remains to make sure this was the missing woman the police were looking for. At this time, they're unable to determine if the alligator is what killed her or if something happened prior to the attack. You can read more on the case here.
