Jet Makes Emergency Landing at Texas Airport After Flames Burst from Engine
This is nightmare fuel.
A United Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at George H.W. Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston after one of the jet’s engines under the left wing erupted in flames just after 7 pm on Monday, March 4.
The New York Post reports United Airlines Flight 1118 was about 15 minutes into the 2-hour flight to Fort Myers, Florida when it had to turn around and return to the airport.
Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.

The fire's cause has not been revealed as of this posting and is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
United provided another plane for the passengers to reach their destination after Flight 1118 landed safely. I don’t know about you, but I would have had a hard time boarding another plane after that.
I probably would have asked for a refund and jumped in my truck to make the trip rather than get on another flight. Hell, I wasn’t even on the flight, and I feel a little traumatized after just watching the video.
That’s why I prefer to keep my feet on the ground.LOOK: These Are The Texas Insects To Be On The Lookout For
