Backpack Bursts Into Flames at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport

A video shows flames bursting from a man’s backpack at the terminal at DFW International Airport. 

One thing I’ll say about the incident is that it’s a good thing it didn’t happen on the plane. I could see that resulting in pure chaos. 

Speaking of chaos, the guy doesn’t seem to be frazzled in the least bit. It’s as if it happens all the time. Then again, now that I think about it, if it happened often, you would think he would know to stomp on it.

Like many of the people commenting on the video, I think it’s safe to assume it was a battery on a device inside the backpack. Which, of course, is pretty damn scary seeing as everyone is walking around with a battery-powered device on them these days. 

It’s especially unnerving if you’re someone like me who typically carries a backpack with multiple electronic devices in it on a daily basis.  

Great. Now I have something else to add to the list of things to worry about.
