Video Shows Knicks Fans Attacking Spurs Fan After Loss

Attacking random fans of another team after their team beat yours is how you make everyone want to see your team lose. Seriously – I'm a Mavs fan, so I have no love for the Spurs (and a soft spot for former Mav and current Knicks guard Jalen Brunson). So, I was just hoping for a good series, but now I want to see the Spurs destroy them.

It’s one thing for a couple of drunk fans to get into a brawl during or after a game. And while I certainly don’t condone that, it’s way different than a bunch of Knicks fans attacking anyone in Spurs gear after the Knicks lost to them last night. I’m not sure how rampant it was, but based on the caption on the video below, I assume there were other instances of it happening.

I’m a big sports fan and will quickly admit to being as passionate as anyone else when it comes to my teams. I mean, “fan” is short for “fanatic,” and that’s for a reason. But this is the sort of thing that can’t be allowed to happen without consequences. Hopefully, the folks who jumped the Spurs fan will be held accountable. Otherwise, this may be just the beginning of a string of violence following the games in this year's NBA Finals and beyond.
