Here’s a reminder to stay alert while traveling the roads in Texas. 

Don’t get me wrong – there are bad drivers everywhere. I’ve traveled much of this country and have witnessed them for myself. 

But the Lone Star State is notorious for bad drivers.

The bad habit I see most among drivers these days is being distracted by their phones. Rarely does a day go by that I don’t see someone looking at their phone while behind the wheel. 

And while I’m far from perfect, that’s one habit I won’t engage in. I was taught at a young age that when you’re driving, that’s the only thing you’re doing. Multitasking while behind the wheel is a recipe for disaster. 

Now, I don’t know if distracted driving was the cause of the pileup that happened in Richardson, but it’s certainly possible. One of the people commenting on the clip seems to think the same thing: 

Whatever the case may be, I just hope everyone made it out okay.
