If you’re from Texas and consider yourself a foodie, you would probably be interested in where the Lone Star State ranks among the best states for foodies.

I spend way too much time ordering from the value menu at fast food joints to consider myself a foodie. But I’m always on the lookout for some good grub.

Every true Texan will tell you that the best food on the planet can be found here. As someone who has traveled all over the country (and much of the world, for that matter), I can tell you that statement is 100% true.

When it comes to Texas grub, anything made with beef immediately comes to mind, and rightfully so. The top-notch chefs in the Lone Star State specialize in great barbecue, burgers, and steaks.

Of course, there would be no such thing as Tex-Mex without Texas. You’ll find a great Tex-Mex restaurant in just about every Texas town, regardless of its size.

But the Lone Star State has so much more cuisine to offer.

You’ll find great Italian, Vietnamese, and many other ethnic foods here. Texas is truly a melting pot of ethnicities, and our bellies are the beneficiaries.

So, it should be no surprise that Texas was ranked among the best states for foodies according to a study conducted by Bet Carolina. The only surprise is that our beloved state ranked 5th, rather than Number One.
