You have to admit that real clowns are kind of creepy anyway, but the newest clown on the block is stirring up some trouble, both on and off screen.

This season, the FX show American Horror Story: Freak Show, is taking a trip back to the 1950s, and one of the main characters just happens to be a serial killer clown, much to the dismay of real clown all across the nation.

Glenn Kohlberger, leader of the nation's largest clown club, Clowns of America International, has publicly stated that "Hollywood makes money sensationalizing the norm. They can take any situation no matter how good or pure and turn it into a nightmare."

Now I won't deny that Twisty the Clown, the serial killer from AHS, is beyond freaky. In fact, it's a show a have a hard time watching at night.

Of course real clowns, who struggle to make a living now-a-days, condemn the show for adding to society's coulrophobia, or the clown fear.

I'm sure those of you who aren't scared of clowns at this point would quickly change your mind after seeing some of Twisty's ghastly acts of horror in the show. So I don't blame real clowns for being upset.

That being said, I believe all clowns have an inherent level of creepiness about them anyway.
