Midwestern State has definitely gotten bigger in the short time I have lived here and now they're expanding out of Wichita Falls.

A new campus is set to open for Midwestern State students, but this one will be located in Flower Mound which is in the DFW area. A lot of students from DFW travel north to Wichita Falls to attend our local university and this campus will help some of the students attend some classes closer to home.

The new campus targets juniors and seniors only, those who wish to continue their studies. Dr. Kieth Lamb told KFDX what this new campus is hoping to capture in the Metroplex for students."We believe, we'll attract working adults who've already completed the Associates Degree and those allied health programs, they're already credentialed licensures and they just need their courses to complete the baccalaureate in those fields."

The new building will also be an expansion of the North Central Texas College Flower Mound campus. "We purposefully located with North Central Texas College for a couple of reasons," Dr. Lamb said. "One is North Central Texas College has outgrown their facility there in Flower Mound and they need to expand." He said NCTC will actually occupy a third of the building and MSU will occupy the east side.

Students are currently able to take hybrid classes from this campus starting in January. The campus still needs some updates including a tech update before being ready to open fully. MSU takes possession of this campus on January 15, 2018.
