Helicopter Crashes Near Lake Kickapoo

Just before 2 pm Thursday a small helicopter crashed in a field off Hwy 25, west of Archer City near Lake Kickapoo. According to DPS, 62 year-old Perry Luig of Holiday was the long occupant of the helicopter and was able to crawl away from the wreckage and call 9-1-1.  Luig was airlifted to United Regional in serious condition.  The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.  The FAA was reportedly on the scene by late afternoon. No other injuries were reported.
