A Texas man is facing several charges after killing someone while driving off a car lot.

Police have concluded an investigation from a deadly June 7th crash in Odessa, Texas. Police discovered a horrific accident at the intersection of E University Blvd and Oakwood Drive. A driver was hit with such force that they were ejected from the vehicle and sadly passed away. Police investigated and determined that Benjamin Kyle Meece was driving recklessly while test driving a Dodge Challenger.

As you can see, the speed limit on this stretch of road in the photo above is posted as 45 MPH. Thanks to security cam footage and the computer inside of the Dodge Challenger. Officers were able to figure out exactly how fast Benjamin Kyle Meece was driving at the time of the accident. At certain points in his test drive, he took the vehicle full throttle accelerating to at least 124 MPH. Officers have determined at the impact of the crash, Meece was traveling around 115 MPH. Striking another vehicle, sending the innocent driver flying out.

After the accident, Meece fled the scene and attempted to hide under some plywood in nearby residence. He was found by police a short time later. He has been charged with Manslaughter, Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury, and Accident Involving Death. We will wait and see what happens with Meece once this case goes to court.
