Dallas Cowboys First Victory Monday of 2026 is a Big Win Over Washington

Both Washington and Dallas came into AT&T Stadium on Sunday at 0-1. The longtime rivals were both determined to not be in the one in division without a win after week 2. Here's five takeaways from the game.

Well we're back with my Victory Monday posts where I highlight five key takeaways from the Dallas Cowboys win. You can also check out a bunch of best photos from the sidelines on Sunday at the bottom of my post as well.

1. Give Dak His Flowers

Yes, I am aware more points and touchdowns are put up nowadays compared to the NFL of several decades ago. However, when you become the Dallas Cowboys all time touchdown passer. You deserve some praise. Dak passed Tony Romo's 248 passing touchdowns on Sunday with his pass to CeeDee Lamb in the fourth quarter. The top five currently sits at Prescott, Romo, Aikman, White, and Staubach. Yes, Danny White (155) has two more touchdown passes than Roger Staubach (153).

2. Injuries Already Piling Up

Without a doubt the biggest blow yesterday came on the other side of the field. Right before the half, Commanders Quarterback Jayden Daniels dislocated his elbow. The Cowboys defense looked better than it did against New York last week, but several players got injured on Sunday against Washington. The team has a short week this week with the team having to travel to Brazil to play the Ravens on Sunday. Hopefully these injuries are not a growing trend.

3. AT&T Stadium Crowd was Loud Yesterday

Any rivalry game at AT&T Stadium gets a little amped up, but I was happy to see the stadium was still so packed in the fourth quarter. Third downs were loud on Sunday and it was nice actually having a defense that gets a stop on third down compared to last season.

4. Tom Brady Commentary Going Viral

I was at the game so didn't get to hear this until late last night. Brady calling Dak's throw an absolute piss missle was great and also when Jayden's injury happened. Brady couldn't help put say 'Oh s***' upon seeing the dislocation of his elbow.

5. Brazil Field Maybe an Issue This Weekend

Technically this happened yesterday, so I am counting it in my news from the game against Washington. Apparently reports coming out of Brazil is that this field the Cowboys will play on Sunday against the Ravens is a disaster zone. According to Pro Football Talk, the league is aware of the situation and it will be addressed before Sunday. The game will go on they say.

I am actually traveling to Brazil for this game and if it gets moved. I am prepared to sue Roger Goodell for emotional distress.
