I love Revocation and Metallica and it just so happens that "Dyers Eve" is one of my favorite songs from "...And Justice for All" so Revocation's version of the tune is what is known in the corporate world as a "win-win".
While I have to applaud Black Tusk for making an hilarious video, my bosses will not be applauding my lack of production due to watching the sumbitch over and over and over.
When it comes to modern death metal, Dying Fetus is easily one of the most influential bands in the scene. You could make the case that bands like Job For A Cowboy, Whitechapel and a slew of others that emerged in the last decade owe a lot to the Maryland metal veterans.
The latest track to surface from the upcoming Baroness album Yellow & Green is a big ol' six minute plus opus called "Eula" and you can stream the goodness right here.
Not that it should come as any surprise because Baroness have always teetered between playing hard rock and heavy metal, but it looks like Yellow & Green will be a pure rock record and I'm okay with that.
We're hours away from the release of the new Dying Fetus album Reign Supreme and the good peeps over at MetalSucks are streaming that bad boy right here.
Damn I love the metal underground...there's just such an open, honest and yeah, somewhat pretentious vibe. These days metal bands with a more retro/New Wave of British Heavy Metal sound (or NWOBHM) are getting snatched up by the labels and Christian Mistress is the latest with their new album Possession available now on Relapse Records.
I'll be honest - I haven't actually read the lyrics to "Lottery" but I'm betting they're a little deeper than just talking about getting screwed on a scratch-off.
Brutal Truth toss out a unique form of grind that gets crazier with every release and their new album End Time is about as crazy as anything I've heard from the band. In fact, it's actually been one of the hardest of their albums for me to get into because nothing from End Time has really stuck with me. Who knows, maybe it'll be one of those that I "get" a little ways down the road and find myself really diggin'.
