I refuse to let the Cowboys hurt me like this.

I used to, though. I would get so damn mad when they lost that I could spit nails. Hell, I would be miserable for the entire week after a Cowboys loss.

So, as you can imagine, I was quite miserable in the early 2000s (aka the Dave Campo Era). Those were some of the roughest years for we Cowboy fans.

And then came the Bill Parcells era, which gave us a ray of hope. Parcells instilled a new culture which immediately turned the team around. Of course, the Parcells era ended with a whimper rather than a bang after Tony Romo fumbled the snap on a late-game field goal attempt against Seattle in the playoffs, ending their season.

While the team was better during Romo’s tenure as quarterback throughout the years when Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett were the Head Coaches respectively, the Cowboys were never able to win the big one.

And that still hasn’t changed.

Another quarterback, another Head Coach, and the same old story. The Cowboys are guaranteed to let you down.

Make no mistake about it – I hope I’m so wrong. I hope the Cowboys fix their issues and get on a tear, ultimately winning the Super Bowl. But I wouldn’t bet on it. In fact, my money would be on the Cowboys once again leaving us heartbroken when the 2022 season winds down.
