Wichita Falls Grocery Store Worker Caught Stealing Thousands from the Company
Looks like a worker had a nice little scam going, but they got a little too greedy.
Looks like Wichita Falls Police were called out to the United Supermarkets on Old Iowa Park Road back in January. Police were informed about an employee at the store that had been racking up fraudulent money orders while on the clock. Security footage showed that Aric Leonse Gray would charge for money orders for between $5 and $50, then would generate money orders for amounts between $400 and $1,000 each time.
United Employee Stole Over Nine Thousand Dollars Worth of Illegal Money Orders
This was not a one time crime. Gray started doing this every few days over about a two week span. United provided police with four days worth of evidence to prove that Gray was stealing.
- December 26, 2025 — Two money orders generated, total loss of $1,350
- January 1, 2026 — Three money orders generated, total loss of $2,475
- January 6, 2026 — Four money orders generated, total loss of $2,870
- January 8, 2026 — Three money orders generated, total loss of $2,475
Police were officially called to the United on January 13th and Aric Leonse Gray was officially charged over the weekend of theft. Looks like Gray will be facing what is called state jail felony theft since the amount was over $2,500, but did not exceed $30,000. In the state of Texas, the punishment can be up to $10,000 in fines or result in 180 days to 2 years in state jail. He officially bonded out on Sunday after posting the $20,000 bond.
According to KFDX, a female customer may have been in on the scam as well, but she has not been identified yet. This is the first time that Aric Leonse Gray has been charged with any crime in Wichita Falls, according to the Wichita County Jail Database.
