
Wichita Falls Citizens Maybe Entitled to Unclaimed Property in Texas
The state of Texas is urging citizens to see if they have unclaimed property in the state since over 10 BILLION dollars is currently owed to the citizens.
Well if you're not having any lucky with that massive Powerball jackpot right now. It looks like the state of Texas might actually owe you money. Texas' Acting Comptroller Ken Hancock has helped setup a website to see if you have unclaimed property in the state. "Every dollar in our Unclaimed Property program belongs to a Texan, not the government," Hancock said. "This time of year, especially, even a small amount can make a meaningful difference for families.
How Do You See If You Have Unclaimed Property in Texas?
The website is simple, ClaimItTexas.Gov. You put in your name, city, and zip code. Then it pulls up anybody in your area that has unclaimed property with your last name. Since I have a fairly common name, (Smith) a lot of names were popping up and let me just say. A few Smiths in Wichita Falls need to check this out.

- Mineral royalties
This money is transferred over to the state when it has nowhere to go. The number is around 10.5 billion dollars in unclaimed property in the state.
