If you haven’t tried them already, get ready to add a few Texas barbecue joints to your restaurant bucket list. Unless, of course, you’re not interested in chowing down on some of the best ribs in the Lone Star State. In that case, move along.

I’m pretty sure I could eat barbecue every day and never get burned out on it. I mean, there are just so many different options to choose from. I could rotate between brisket, ribs, turkey, sausage, and so on, and never feel like I was eating the same thing over and over.

In fact, that’s my biggest conundrum when I go to a barbecue joint: what am I not going to eat? It’s all so good.

So, of course, I was very interested when I came across Love Food’s list of the best barbecue ribs in each state. I guess the options were all too good to narrow down to just one barbecue joint, so they went with three Texas spots.

Franklin Barbecue, Austin

Ray’s Real Pit BBQ Shack, Houston

Terry Black’s Barbecue, various locations

Of course, there are a ton of great barbecue joints here in the Lone Star State who will take issue with the list, and rightfully so. The fact of the matter is that you don’t have to travel far to find exceptional barbecue in this neck of the woods.
