There's a good reason dogs are considered man's best friend. Who else would stick around while you're sitting all alone in your pitch black apartment?

If you don't believe me when I say that dogs are man's best friend, then you clearly haven't seen this video yet.

A homeless man in Brazil recently went to the hospital after someone hit him in the face with a rock, and his dog followed him up there. But a busted face wasn't the only thing wrong with this man.

It turns out he had skin cancer, so the doctors operated immediately to remove it. He's been in the hospital recovering for a couple weeks now.

But what happened to the dog that followed him up there? Well I'm glad you asked.

The dog, named Seco, has been outside the hospital ever since his master checked in, patiently waiting. That's a good dog.

Eventually one of the nurses noticed Seco wasn't going anywhere and gave him some food and water, but wait, it gets better.

Eight days after being checked into the hospital, doctors allowed the nurses to wheel him out in front of the hospital to see his faithful companion.

You can check out a video of the reunion below and maybe now you'll understand why dogs are so much better than cats.
