New Smartphone App Just Delivered a Thousand Meals to Starving Texans
Everyone loves a good smartphone app, but this one is helping people down on their luck get a solid meal.
You have probably not heard of the app from Unsung.org. The app is pretty awesome, it partners with caterers and restaurants that have unwanted food. The person who runs those establishments contacts Unsung and someone comes and picks up the food like an Uber driver picking up a passenger.
Someone at Unsung prepares what they get into a nice meal for the homeless and then a driver will deliver those meals to the needy. Unsung just delivered their 1,000th meal in Austin, Texas this week. They're pleased to see Texans helping out other Texans. Maybe other cities across the country could try something like the folks at Unsung.
