Sick story coming out of south Texas today.

About a week ago, Child Protective Services began an investigation into a five-year-old and a nine-year-old child. Apparently the two children had permanent tattoos on their bodies. Which is illegal in the state of Texas. Some people believe if you have parental consent under the age of 18, you can still get a tattoo in Texas, which is not true.

Actual Texas Law on Minors Getting Tattoos

Section 146.012 of the Texas Health and Safety Code states that a minor can only get a tattoo in Texas is if it is to cover up a previous illegal tattoo. For instance, if a 16-year-old got a gang symbol tattooed on them, you can legally get that covered up at a tattoo studio in Texas. However in this case, the children did not want to get these tattoos, the parents forcibly restrained them.

TRIGGER WARNING, GRAPHIC DETAILS

Gunner Farr (stepfather) and Megan Farr (mother) to the two young children mentioned above, allegedly gave the two children homemade tattoos. Apparently these two became aware of an incoming wellness check on the children and removed the skin from the tattooed area of the body.

Gunner and Megan Farr were arrested and charged with injury to a child and unlawful restraint. Both were taken to the Angelina County Jail and the children are in the custody of CPS. Lt. James Denby with the Zavalla Police Department says the investigation is ongoing to see if more charges can be brought on these two.
