Another Earthquake Was Felt in Wichita Falls, Texas
Let's get a little shaky on a Friday morning.
Second Earthquake to Hit Wichita Falls This Week
Around 10:40PM Monday night, residents in Wichita Falls claimed to feel an earthquake. The epicenter of this earthquake was Hermleigh, Texas with a magnitude of 4.9 on the Richter scale. Well guess what? The same location just had another earthquake this morning and I actually felt this one.
Lubbock is the closest major city to Hermleigh, Texas and local newscasters are reporting the earthquake. According to the United States Geological Survey another earthquake hit Hermleigh, Texas at 9:28 this morning.
This one is slightly under the previous earthquake that folks felt on Monday coming in at 4.8 on the Richter scale.
^Pretty much all of us right now trying to figure out if we're crazy or not. I am here to report that no, I felt this one. Not sure what is going on in Hermleigh, Texas, but someone may want to go check on them. Two earthquakes in the same week is pretty rare for these parts of Texas.
Looks Like Another One Hit Ten Minutes After
As I was finishing writing this, another smaller earthquake happened in the same area just twelve minutes after the one we felt in Wichita Falls. If you would like to follow earthquake information in real time. United States Geological Survey website is an amazing resource to use. I can now check surviving an earthquake off of my bucket list. That was not fun sitting in a tall building in Parker Square.
