Texas Man Arrested After Allegedly Stealing Four Thousand Dollars Worth of Wine
Would have gotten away with it, if he didn't leave one thing behind.
Looks like 43-year-old Hoang Nguyen had a nice little scam going in San Antonio. He allegedly did the classic switch the price tags of a cheaper item, onto a more expensive item. Nguyen was doing this with wine bottles at six different H-E-B locations over the course of two days.
He bought 35 bottles of wine and only cost him $170.15, what a deal. Turns out the actual price of those bottles was $4,036.90. Looks like one manager caught him in the act and asked for his I.D.. When questions started being asked by the store manager, Nguyen fled leaving his I.D. behind. Police would later locate him and arrest him.
