Someone in Texas Just Won $5 Million on a Scratch Ticket
Please join me in congratulating the latest multimillion-dollar Texas Lottery winner. I’ve written about some nice Texas Lottery scratch ticket jackpots over roughly the last year, but this one takes the cake.
Can you imagine the feeling the moment you realize you just won $5 million on a scratch-off? I could see myself double and triple-checking the ticket in disbelief after scratching it. I probably wouldn’t believe it until I collected the jackpot. Even then, I would probably think I was dreaming.

But a Sealy resident could tell you exactly what it feels like. Well, that is, if you knew who it was who had won the jackpot. The big winner wisely chose to remain anonymous. I know I would. Otherwise, my phone would most likely be blowing up 24/7 with texts and calls from people I hadn’t heard from in years.
Where the $5 Million Winning Ticket Was Sold
Anyway, the person who had much better luck than I scored the $5 million jackpot in the $5 Million Titanium Black game, according to a press release. The winner bought the lucky ticket at Buccaneer, located at 1309 Prairie Lea St., in Brenham.
That was the first of four $5 million jackpots to be claimed in the game. Overall, $5 Million Titanium Black will award more than $448.6 million in total prizes. The odds of winning a prize in the game are one in 3.89, with prizes starting at $150.
Aside from awarding billions of dollars in prizes to players since its inception in 1992, the Texas Lottery has also given billions of dollars to support education in the Lone Star State, as well as Texas veterans.
