Even though I rarely play the lottery, I love to share stories about folks coming into a life-changing sum of money. I figure most folks who play the lottery are anything but wealthy. Not necessarily poor, but I doubt guys like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos buy scratch-offs.

But I must admit to being tempted to head to the corner store and buy a ticket every time I share a story about the latest lucky player to hit it big in the Texas Lottery. So far, I’ve been able to resist the temptation. 

Today’s story is about an anonymous Fort Worth resident who won $1 million in the Instant Millions scratch ticket game. The lucky ticket was purchased at K U Food Mart LP, located at 2221 W. Seminary Drive, in Fort Worth, according to a press release. 

If you have a $20 bill you can afford to lose, you may be the next winner in the game. That was the third of four $1 million prizes to be claimed in Instant Millions. I don’t know about you, but $10,000 would come in handy right about now. As I write this, there are three $10,000 unclaimed prizes in the game. 

Instant Millions will award more than $91.3 million in prizes. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are one in 3.80, including break-even prizes.

Aside from awarding billions of dollars in prizes to players since its inception in 1992, the Texas Lottery has also given billions of dollars to support education in the Lone Star State, as well as Texas veterans.
