Lightning in Texas
The problem is that Texas was the lightning capital of the US in 2024. According to Fox Weather, the Lone Star State experienced 40.4 million lightning events last year. At the rate we’re going, my best guess is that it will remain the lightning capital in 2025.
We’re used to wild weather around here this time of year, but this storm season has been one of the worst I can remember (and we still have a long way to go until we’re out of it). All I can say is dig in and prepare for the worst, but hope and pray for the best.
