We have a bad road rage problem here in Texas.

I remember witnessing a few road rage incidents when I lived in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the late 90s but was never sucked into it. I’ve always been pretty good at holding my tongue and not letting someone provoke me while driving.

That brings me to one of the paradoxes of the Lone Star State. Most of the folks here are some of the kindest, most hospitable people you will ever meet in your life – unless you cross them. At that point you had better be ready for a fight.

So, it’s no surprise that four of the biggest cities in Texas are ranked among the 20 worst for road rage in the country, one of which is the worst overall: Houston.

4 Worst Texas Cities for Road Rage

  1. Houston
  2. Austin
  3. Dallas
  4. Arlington

With Texas having been one of the most moved-to states over the last decade or so, the traffic in our biggest cities is a nightmare. That’s why there’s always road construction happening on the busiest roads in our major cities. They’re trying desperately to keep up with the rapid population growth, but traffic conditions continue to worsen.

Unfortunately, it’s probably going to be that way for a while.
