Record Setting Hammerhead Shark Caught in Texas Fishing Tournament
That is one huge shark!
Over in Texas City, they're setting all kinds of records in their fishing tournament. Just a week ago, we reported to you a massive bull shark caught in a similar tournament in Texas City. That guy was king of Texas City fishing and then Tim McClellen goes to one up his catch with this hammerhead shark.
The new record for a hammerhead shark in Texas is now 1,033-pounds thanks to Tim. He has been fishing for 20 years and says you never know what’s going to bite when you drop your line. This hammerhead beats the old record by 162 pounds.
This does not beat the overall largest catch in Texas history. Records show the biggest fish in Texas is a 1,129-pound tiger shark reeled in from the Gulf in 1992.
