Normally you wouldn't think about shark attacks taking place in Oklahoma, but that's exactly what happened in OKC. Jailers at the Oklahoma County Detention Center in OKC have been charged with abuse and cruelty for subjecting inmates to the sonic torture of "Baby Shark" played on a never-ending loop.

Talk about cruel and unusual punishment! The inmates would be handcuffed standing in a small room and have to listen to Baby Shark for hours at a time. The reported abuse took place in late 2019 and involved both detention officers and supervisors. While those that were involved in the incident face charges, all 3 of the people responsible for the alleged abuse have resigned or retired from the detention center.

I heard about this crazy story last night while running down rabbit holes on YouTube. KFOR News Channel 4 in OKC did a report on the incident so I had to watch it. Hit play on the video below for all the details.

I can't imagine having to listen to Baby Shark at extreme decibels for hours on end. Actually, I have now that I think about it. Any parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, older sibling, babysitter, or really anyone who knows someone with young children has probably been subjected to this absolute hellish torture.

When that song first came out it was everywhere and played non-stop in most households with children. Worst than that, even when you managed to escape from having to hear it, it would be stuck in your head for days on end. It was pure hell! If you've lived through this you know the waking nightmare all too well.
