Not Shocking News, Wichita Falls Has Some of the Worst Drivers in Texas
Been saying it for years and the stats back me up on this one.
Keep Scrolling to See Which Texas Cities Have the Worst Drivers
I have heard a lot of people in Wichita Falls complain about the horrible drivers whenever they have to go to Dallas. It is true, Dallas has significantly worse traffic than us here in Wichita Falls. Worse drivers? I don't think so. People in Wichita Falls don't know basic driving etiquette and I am shocked that some of you are legally allowed to have a license. Looks like the latest reporter from Consumer Affairs agrees with me.
Calculating the Worst Drivers in the State of Texas
Consumer Afffairs looked at several factors to come up with their 'crash score'. The likely hood that you would get into an accident while driving in a particular city in Texas.
- Number of fatalities due to crashes per 100,000 people
- Number of crashes related to bad driving per 100,000 people
- Number of fatalities involving speeding per 100,000 people
- Number of fatalities involving driving under the influence per 100,000 people
- Number of fatalities involving positive blood alcohol content per 100,000 people
Top Ten Cities with the Worst Drivers in Texas

What Did Consumer Affairs Say Exactly About Wichita Falls?
They gave us a crash score of 54.64. A big factor for us is we have some of the most traffic related accidents due to bad driving (what I have been saying for years). Excessive speeders and drunk driving related accidents also factored in for us being third in all of Texas.
So remember the next time you complain about the drivers in Dallas, just remember they have a lower score than you. By the way Galveston has a score of 97.63, which makes it seem like an accident is happening every mile over there.
