Metallica’s Kirk Hammett has been a horror buff since the age of six, when he sprained his arm and was forced to be inside. That’s when he discovered the genre, and he’s been hooked ever since. Because of his love of horror, he’s amassed a collection of memorabilia which he’ll be displaying in a new book titled Too Much Horror Business – The Kirk Hammett Collection. The book is due for release in October.

The 228-page book will feature over 300 color photographs from Hammett’s personal collection, along with hand-written notes about many of the items. Additionally, there are extensive conversations with Hammett in the book, talking about his love of everything horror.

Fans will get a sneak peek of the book at the Orion Music + More in Atlantic City, New Jersey this month. Hammett has a tent there called Kirk’s Crypt, which will give people a chance to see some of the collection. Given his love of collecting, those who see it are likely in for a real treat.

Then, to add even more awesomeness to his obsession, Hammett is coming out with a line of collectable toys through his Kirk Von Hammett line, which can be purchased, along with preordering the book at KVHtoys.com.

I wonder if this man ever sleeps?
