Just had to remake that 'Back to School' movie in real life?

Your first semester of college can be pretty scary, but Melanie Salazar has at least one person she knows on campus. Rene Neira is her 82-year-old grandfather and is enrolled at the same time as her at Palo Alto College, in San Antonio.

Now Melanie is just starting her first semester, but Rene just needs one more class to get his associate’s degree in economics. "Honestly, to me it feels normal that I’m going to school with my grandpa," she told ABC News. "I look at my grandpa, and I’m proud of him. This is a normal thing. It feels great, and I’m very proud of him."

Salazar and her grandfather will only get to stroll the campus together for one semester. Neira says that after he graduates, he’s planning on enrolling in the University of Texas at Austin to earn his bachelor’s degree. He put his education on hold after starting a family. After his wife died in 2009, he decided to jump back into school.

Good luck to the both of them on their studies. Hope they both graduate.
