Let’s take a virtual road trip to Central Texas and pay a visit to Dublin. Admittedly, I’ve never been there, but thanks to the miracle of modern technology that is the internet, I feel like I have.

The thing that immediately stood out to me while researching Dublin is the fact that there are four museums there (there used to be five). That’s a whole lot of history, and as someone who loves history, I’m all for it. The fact that a town with a population of just over 3,400 has five museums is wild.

Arguably the most notable is the Ben Hogan Museum, dedicated to telling the story of Dublin’s most famous son, who just so happened to have been a golf legend.

If that’s not enough for you, learn all about the history of the city of Dublin at the Dublin Historical Museum. You can also go back in time at the Dublin Rodeo Heritage Museum and W.M. Wright Historical Park.

Cheese lovers most definitely need to put Dublin on the road trip bucket list. One of their biggest attractions is Veldhuizen Cheese Shoppe.

No road trip would be complete without trying some of the best grub in town. If you’re in the mood for some good old-fashioned home cooking, hit up Granny Clark’s Restaurant.

Hacienda Camino Real has you covered for those looking to get a belly full of Tex-Mex.

Other top-rated restaurants on Yelp include Blackjack’s, Milano’s Pizza, Red Barrell Bar and Grill, El Rinconcito, and Taqueria El Rio Y Mariscos.

If road-tripping to charming small towns is your thing, you can’t go wrong with Dublin. Learn more about the Irish Capital of Texas on the Chamber of Commerce website.
