Currently my favorite player on the Dallas Cowboys, Dez Bryant, made a bold statement today.

Hope it's just talk and hopefully a deal is reached.According to an ESPN report, Dez said he would miss the regular season opener if a long term deal is not reached by July 15. Cowboys Vice President Stephen Jones said signing Dez is a top priority. I don't care who you root for, Dez Bryant is one of the best players not signed to a long term deal this offseason.

The Cowboys did make an offer to Dez before the 2014 season, but the offer has not changed since then. Dez had an amazing season last year. If it were not for B.S. call (you know it was a catch), the Cowboys would have been playing in the NFC Championship game.

I am sure some people are thinking Dez would never sit out a regular season game. Let me take you back to my personal favorite Dallas Cowboy of all time, Emmit Smith. The year was 1993 the Cowboys just won their first Super Bowl of the decade. Emmit Smith was in a contract dispute with the team. Emmit sat out the first two regular season games and the Cowboys started the season 0-2. After that a deal was reached and I am hoping something like this doesn't happen with Dez.
