Dallas Cowboys Make Their Final Trip to Oakland For Prime Time Football
With the Raiders moving to Vegas in 2019, this will be the last trip for the Cowboys here. Let's hook you up with the history of these two franchises.
Turns out the Cowboys have not faced the current AFC West a lot throughout the years. The Cowboys have faced the Raiders only eleven times, which sounds weird considering the Raiders were one of those old-school AFL teams. The Chiefs and Chargers also fall into that only eleven times category. The only teams the Cowboys have faced fewer times is Jacksonville (six), Baltimore (five) and Houston (four). That makes sense considering those teams are just over a decade old.
The Cowboys only have a losing record (or tied record) against seven teams. One of them being the Raiders. The rest of the list is Baltimore, Cleveland, Denver, Green Bay, Jacksonville (series tied) and Miami (series tied). That's right, the Cowboys have a losing record to the Browns. The games against the Raiders have usually been really close. Eight of the eleven games were decided by less than seven points.
A win on Sunday keeps the Dallas playoff hopes alive. It also would increase their win streak to three, which would tie their longest win streak of the season. Close out the Cowboys 2017 record against the AFC West at 2-2, and up it to 24-23 overall.
Snap a two-game losing streak in Oakland and serve as Dallas' first win there since the 1995 season (11/19). A win also gives Dallas’ 32nd win on Sunday Night Football, most all-time. Kickoff is set for 7:30, pregame will begin at 6:30. You can listen to every Dallas Cowboys game on Newstalk 1290.
