A picture of the Dallas Cowboys' practice facility in the ‘60s compared to The Star today was recently shared on X, and the difference is nuts.

Remembering the Cowboys' Early Days

Not that I was surprised at just how far the team has come since its inception. It’s just that I had never seen the original. The oldest facility I remember is Valley Ranch.

All it takes is one glance at my profile picture, and my love for the Cowboys is obvious. Some of my fondest memories from my childhood were formed on Sundays in the fall, watching them with my dad. To this day, if the Cowboys are playing, don’t even think about changing the channel on our TV.

I will say, though, being a fan hasn’t been nearly as fun over the last twenty-plus years. Sure, they’ve fielded some good teams in that period, but they haven’t played in an NFC Championship (much less a Super Bowl) since 1996, which, of course, was the last year they won a Lombardi Trophy.

Progress or Problem? Fans React to the Viral Photo

The comments on the post are pretty much what you would expect, with folks pointing out the fact that they won championships while using the old facility. While I agree with the sentiment, that genie isn’t going back in the bottle. Jerry has turned their practice facility into a revenue-generated circus, and as long as there’s money to be made, that’ll never change.
