Cowboys Fans May Be Miserable, but Dallas Is Still One of America’s Top Football Cities
It’s been a long time since North Texas football fans have had something to be happy about. So, I guess you could look at this bit of good news as a silver lining.
Everyone knows that football is a religion here in the Lone Star State. Folks around here worship at its altar every weekend in the fall. And yes, yours truly is most certainly one of those people.

Let me point out that I’m a total homer when it comes to sports. I grew up as a fan of the Cowboys and the Longhorns, and that’s where my loyalties lie to this day. While the Longhorns admittedly give me hope for the future, the Cowboys do not. That said, I’ll still be glued to the TV when my teams play.
Cowboys Fans Are Loyal—No Matter the Pain
I know I’m not the only football fan in this neck of the woods who’s a glutton for punishment. Cowboy fans regularly shell out big bucks for tickets and merchandise, even though the team hasn’t sniffed a championship in three decades. I would imagine that’s a big part of why Dallas was named the second-best football city in the US, behind Pittsburgh, in a study conducted by WalletHub.
I realize that it doesn’t take the sting out of watching our team come up short year after year. But at least we have a little something to hang our hat on.
