Childress High School Football Coach Surprised With Super Bowl Tickets on Good Morning America
The Super Bowl is this weekend and one coach from the Lone Star state will be making the trip of a lifetime.
Phillip Rhodes is a man of many talents in Childress, Texas. He is a world geography teacher and junior varsity head football coach, assistant varsity football coach and head boy’s track coach at Childress High School. Good Morning America was giving away tickets to the Super Bowl for a coach deserving of a free trip.
Several people nominated Phillip for his thirty-three years of service to the school. “He's the guy you can always count on,” one nominator wrote of Rhodes. “He's the coach that sees if a student needs some new clothes or shoes, he'll go and buy them whatever they need, no matter the cost.”
You would think Rhodes living in Texas, he would support the Cowboys or the Texans. Rhodes does say he watches the Cowboys, but he is actually a lifelong Raiders fan. This Sunday he will see the Falcons take on the Patriots in Houston.
Rhodes received game tickets, on-field access for the post-game celebration and VIP access to parties featuring performances by Lady Antebellum and Bruno Mars. Hope it's a good game and I hope he has a hell of a time.
