Kansas City Chiefs Should Rock the Dallas Texans Uniform for the Playoffs
Let's do Texans VS Texans on Saturday!
Houston Texans VS Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday
We still have one more playoff game tonight in the wild card round, but the AFC playoff match ups are already set. This Saturday the Houston Texans will travel to Kansas City and these two have actually met in the playoffs twice. In 2020 and also in 2016, Texans fans do not look up these scores because they were both double digit blowouts. The Kansas City Chiefs technically could do something pretty funny on Saturday.
Kansas City Chiefs Still Have the Rights to the Dallas Texans Uniforms
Although it is VERY rare when the Kansas City Chiefs wear these uniforms (mainly in 2009 to support the 50th anniversary of the AFL). It would be funny if the team showed up on Sunday rocking the state of Texas on the side of their helmet AGAINST the Texans. Now the Dallas Texans that would go onto be the Kansas City Chiefs are not the first professional Texans team. Hell, they're not even the first Dallas Texans.
Don't Forget the Dallas Texans of the NFL
Before the AFL team in 1960, another Dallas Texans existed in the NFL. Not a lot of folks have fond memories of this team since they went 1-11. They only lasted one season in Dallas before becoming the Baltimore Colts. The Colts do not recognize the history of the Dallas Texans and are known as the last NFL team to permanently cease operations.
Don't Forget San Antonio Texans of the CFL
Remember that weird time when the Canadian Football League had teams in America? Probably not because it barely lasted three years. One of those teams was the San Antonio Texans. Finally we will come to our final professional Texans team and it's actually the Houston Texans, but not the one you know today.
The Houston Texans of the World Football League
Yes, a Houston Texans team existed before the team we know today. From 1974-1975, a new upstart league formed called the World Football League. The Houston Texans would not even make it to the second year in the league, moving to Shreveport to become the Shreveport Steamers in 1975.

In conclusion, we have had A LOT of teams called the Texans and I think to honor that history. Do the Texans VS Texans uniform match up on Sunday. It will probably not happen, but it would be cool to see.
