If you’re like me and are always looking for ways to save a few bucks, some days are better than others when it comes to saving money on gas.

The price of oil has skyrocketed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. As of this posting, oil prices are at $100 per barrel, which is the highest prices have been since 2014, according to KHOU.

People are currently paying $3.05 per gallon on average for gas here in Wichita Falls and according to GasBuddy, the price could increase to $4.00 per gallon here in the next few months.

And that’s where this story comes in.

Unless you drive an electric car or walk or ride a bicycle for your daily commute, gas is a necessity. And when it comes to buying gas, some days are better than others, depending on which state you live in.

For those of us here in Texas, Sunday is the best day to buy gas. Of course, you’re wondering what the worst day to buy gas is and that would be Thursday. You also want to avoid gassing up on a Wednesday.

For the record, this is not a paid endorsement, but I almost always get gas at Sam’s Club. The price there is usually about 5 cents cheaper than the average price here in The Falls.

But if you’re not a member, that’s not an option. In that case, shop around using a gas price app like GasBuddy or the free AAA mobile app.

Because a little shopping around can save you up to $250 per year.
