Three Storm Chasers Die in Car Accident in Texas
Storm chasing can be very dangerous and a group of them unfortunately died yesterday afternoon while chasing the storm that hit Texas.
The storm yesterday hit parts of Texas harder than others. The Department of Public Safety and deputies with the Dickens County Sheriff's Office are saying this accident had nothing to do with the storm. Over in Spur, which is just east of Lubbock, three men were chasing the storm.
The men have been identified and the cause of the accident has been announced. One of the vehicles apparently ran a stop sign and struck a black jeep. The storm chasers were Kelley Gene Williamson of Missouri and Randall Delane Yarnall also of Missouri. Williamson was not wearing his seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle at the time of the accident. Yarnell was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle they struck was Corbin Lee Jaeger of Arizona. All three men were pronounced dead at the scene.
