These Wichita Falls, Texas Intersections Have the Most Accidents

Feels like you see a car accident every day in Wichita Falls. If it's at one of these intersections, you're not going crazy. They do get a lot of accidents.

Every year, Wichita Falls ranks near the top for the worst drivers in all of Texas and sometimes in the country. This is due to mostly three factors, amount of drunk driving arrests, speeding tickets, and car accidents. That last one is what we're focusing on today. What are the areas in Wichita Falls that have the most traffic accidents?

Times Record News just released the list of what intersections had the most traffic accidents in 2024. If you have lived in Wichita Falls for quite some time, you can honestly probably guess all ten. I have personally had my previous vehicle totaled from someone running a red light at one of these intersections mentioned below.

Times Record News also reached out to the Wichita Falls police department on the amount of deadly crashes that these intersections caused. Four deaths happened in 2024 alone at one of these intersections mentioned below. One of the most shocking things from the Times Record News story was a quote from Doug Wooster, superintendent of the Wichita Falls Traffic Engineering Department.

“People just don’t understand that a flashing yellow means you have to yield to the people coming at you,” he said in the story. I have always said Wichita Falls has some of the worst drivers I have ever seen. If people are unaware that is what a flashing yellow light means, I am happy to know I am not going crazy thinking Wichita Falls has bad drivers.
