Tom Morello has joined a long line of rockers who seemingly have issues with selfie-takers getting too close for comfort at concerts. Judas Priest's Rob Halford recently talked to Loudwire about the time he kicked a fan's phone out of their hand, and now Morello, the Rage Against the Machine guitarist and current Prophets of Rage figurehead, has taken a concertgoer's would-be selfie to a whole new level in his own way.

It happened last Saturday (June 15) during Morello's gig at 101WKQX's PIQNIQ 2019 in Tinley Park, Illinois, as reported by 101WKXQ. In fan-captured video of the incident, it appears concertgoers are congregating onstage when Morello swipes the nearby fan's phone and launches it into the crowd. The musician later responded online.

"Put a phone in my face onstage and I’ll throw it," Morello added last weekend, retweeting the vid of his phone-throwing stunt along with "#LiveInTheMoment Great fun today at @101WKQX show. #SweetHomeChicago." The original tweet, from a concertgoer who posted the clip, reads, "Tom Morello is a savage! Live in the moment lmfao."

As pointed out by Ultimate Guitar, a since-deleted tweet from Morello appeared to further address the incident when another fan complained about his onstage actions. "Ur fave k-pop bands will let u take all the onstage selfies you want," the guitarist reportedly said. "You get to decide!" See Tom Morello's upcoming tour dates here.
