Thrashman’s Metal Pick Of The Week

Another week...another pick. This week I'm going with Finnish grinders Rotten Sound's new album Cursed. Allow me to channel my inner pop-culture child...OMG this is some of the best grind I've heard in years! Rotten Sound totally gets it when it comes to song-writing in that they understand the need for dynamic even in the most intense grindcore. Make no mistake about it, I'm a sucker for brutality but after a few minutes of blasting I'm ready for things to slow down and chug a little bit and Cursed is indeed a perfect blend of straight-forward grind with a little bit of darker, down-tempo heaviness. The best way to experience Cursed is to play it all the way through, front-to-back at a very loud volume to get the full effect. This is definitely one of my top records for 2011.
