Texas Rangers Fans, You Can Officially Cut the Cord for the 2025 Season
If you kept your cable subscription because the Texas Rangers were the last Dallas based team to be on a premium channel. Changes are coming for this season.
Texas Rangers Officially Parted Ways With Bally Sports in October
After last season, the Texas Rangers announced they would be going somewhere new for fans to watch their games. Since 1996, many fans watched the games on Fox Sports Southwest, which would then become Bally Sports Southwest in recent years. The channel and the Rangers failed to come to an agreement after the ownership group of Bally's filed for bankruptcy. It has been months since any update for the future of the Texas Rangers, but we finally know where you can watch the team.
Victory Plus is Your New Home for the Texas Rangers
Now Dallas hockey fans already know how awesome Victory Plus is. The app is currently the FREE home for the majority of the Dallas Stars game. The app also broadcasts the Anaheim Ducks for free as well (must be living in California to watch them for free). However, the Texas Rangers will not be free on Victory Plus.
Be Prepared to Pay for Texas Rangers Baseball on This App
Unlike the Dallas Stars, the Texas Rangers will require an annual fee to watch their games on Victory Plus this upcoming season. Some fans who still have a cable may want to wait to fully cut the cord because the Texas Rangers wording on the announcement is interesting.
The Texas Rangers say they're "looking to finalize other television offerings". So maybe the Texas Rangers will air on another channel this year, but the only streaming option will be Victory Plus. The Rangers or Victory Plus have not announced what this will cost, but many other teams that have separate streaming packages have the price at $20-30 a month. We will wait and see what the future holds for broadcasting Texas Rangers games.
