Texas Governor Suggests Replacement For Dallas Cowboys Backup Quarterback

If you watched the Cowboys game yesterday, you know Tony Romo is out for an extended period of time. We're going to need another backup quarterback and Texas Governor Greg Abbot has a suggestion.

The latest report I have seen says Romo is going to be out for at least eight games. We will see later today what happens with an official medical diagnosis.

Here's what I know: the Dallas Cowboys have only two quarterbacks on their active roster. Tony Romo and Brandon Weeden.

Brandon Weeden came in yesterday and did everything you want a backup to do. Manage the game and not turn the ball over. He went 7/7 and threw for a touchdown. The Cowboys will need to bring in someone to backup Weeden, just in case something happens to him.

According to the Dallas Cowboys website, they have Kellen Moore on their practice squad. He was former quarterback for Boise State. If you don't bring him up, you have to pick out someone. I learned that if Weeden would go down, Cole Beasley would go in. By the way, I would have loved to see that.

So who should the Cowboys get? The governor has a suggestion.

That's right, Tim Tebow. I mean, off the top of my head I can't think of another quarterback to get besides Jon Kitna, but he's teaching high school right now. Christian Ponder was cut this preseason, he wouldn't be bad, I guess. I don't know. Once again, this is just a backup, to the backup role. This is worst case scenario if this quarterback comes in. I guess Tebowmania could hit Dallas. We will see what happens this week.
