Texans Threaten To Boycott Whataburger For Supporting Oklahoma City Thunder
Texans on social media are accusing Whataburger of forgetting where they come from.
Whataburger, who sponsors both the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder posted about their dilemma ahead of Game 1 of the series between the two teams.
It did not go well for them. Many of the people responding to the post believe Whataburger has lost its loyalty to the Lone Star State since the Chicago-based investment company BDT Capital.
San Antonio Spurs fans got in on the action, calling out the burger chain (who has a location inside Frost Bank Center) for neglecting to congratulate Victor Wembanyama for being named NBA Rookie of the Year.
I can understand Whataburger feeling the need to show support for both teams. But this is one of those instances when it’s best to just say nothing at all.
